There has been major reform in the nursing profession in India like age of teaching faculty has been increased to 70 yrs, INC has started independent nurse practitioner course, GNM is going to be upgraded to BSc(N) with modification in Basic BSc(N) curriculum, TNAI have taken over charge to recruit registered Nurses to work overseas. Nursing profession has various opportunity in the health care setting in expanded and extended role in Nursing Services and in Education.
